- Deck- To maintain the boat in a pristine condition it is important to perform regular cleaning of the surfaces which are constantly exposed to the marine environment and to the UV rays. In our boat exterior cleaning service we use neutral PH marine grade shampoo which not only removes the dirt and residues, but it also contains wax, which adds a protective layer to further preserve the gloss of the paint. By using special deck brushes for each of the surfaces ( extra-soft for windows, medium soft for the paint) we focus on each area according to its needs.
- Windows- Special attention is given to the windows, which we clean and dry to make them perfectly transparent, keeping in mind not only the overall aspect of the boat but also to maintain a clear sight for the safety of navigation.

Sea-spray aerosols
Even when inside a marina, the boat is affected by the sea-spray which is present in the air above the sea and brought by the breeze. The particles are corrosive and can cause oxidation on surfaces such as stainless steel (which is generally used for the hand rails) and any other metal, which leads to rust spots appearing in short time. Bird excrements
There are plenty of seagulls around any marina and it’s very common to find bird excrements on the boats. It is important to know that not only is this seagull poop hard to remove once dry, but it is also corrosive due to its high content of Uric Acid. This acid is strong enough to affect the layer of gelcoat, paint or wax and the chemical reaction takes place within minutes after it falls on the surface. If not removed for a long time, it will leave marks which will be very hard to remove. This is the main reason you see those bird deterrents installed on plenty of boats around the port.
Saharan dust
Throughout the whole year, in Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands, whenever the Sirocco wind is blowing towards Europe, it brings with it very fine particles of sand from Sahara. These, combined with the rain ( the one which brings it has been nicknamed “Blood Rain” because of the dark red colour of its drops), humidity (especially when the dew forms and the boat looks “sweaty”) , turn into a brown liquid which gets into the hardest to access corners of the deck . When it dries it requires more effort to be cleaned but it can also cause very fine scratches on the paint when it gets in friction with another object -a fender, for example.
